Safarix Cab Private Limited ("Safarix", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Safarix mobile application, our website at safarix.in, and any related services (collectively, the "Platform").

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to all users of the Platform, including drivers who list trips and riders who join them. It is published in accordance with:

  • The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act");
  • The Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011;
  • The Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

2. Who we are

Safarix Cab Private Limited is a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, with its registered office at P. No. 40, Paldi Meena, Agra Road, Jaipur 302031. For the purposes of the DPDP Act, Safarix is the "Data Fiduciary" in respect of personal data processed through the Platform.

3. Data we collect

3.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account & identity: full name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, profile photograph.
  • Verification (KYC): government-issued ID (e.g. Aadhaar, PAN), driving license, and vehicle registration documents — required for drivers.
  • Trip details: origin, destination, date, time, available seats, price per seat, and trip notes.
  • Payment information: UPI ID or other payment handles. Card or bank details are processed by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment partners; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Communications: messages exchanged with other users through in-app chat, and communications with our support team.

3.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device & technical data: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, and crash logs.
  • Location data: precise location during an active trip (with your explicit consent). We do not track your location when no trip is in progress.
  • Usage data: screens viewed, features used, search queries, and trip-booking history.

3.3 Information from third parties

We may receive verification responses from KYC providers, payment confirmations from payment partners, and aggregated analytics from service providers. We do not buy personal data from data brokers.

4. How we use your data

We process personal data only for clearly defined purposes:

  • To create and manage your account, verify your identity, and enforce eligibility requirements.
  • To match drivers and riders, facilitate trip bookings, and enable in-app communication.
  • To process payments, refunds, and settlements.
  • To send service notifications (booking updates, OTPs, trip alerts) and, with your consent, marketing communications.
  • To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms.
  • To improve the Platform, debug issues, and develop new features.
  • To comply with applicable law, court orders, or lawful requests from government authorities.

5. Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as described below:

  • With other users: when a trip is confirmed, a limited set of details (first name, photo, vehicle, rating, and live location during the trip) is shared with the matched driver or rider. Phone numbers are masked.
  • With service providers: KYC, payments, cloud hosting, mapping, analytics, and customer-support vendors who process data on our instructions under contractual safeguards.
  • For legal reasons: when disclosure is required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Safarix, our users, or the public.
  • Corporate transactions: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the relevant successor entity, subject to this policy.

6. Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by applicable law (for example, tax, payment, and KYC records under Indian law). When data is no longer required, it is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

7. Security

We follow industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access controls, audit logging, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act and applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Request erasure of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements;
  • Withdraw consent for processing that relies on consent (such as marketing or precise location);
  • Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity;
  • Lodge a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see below) or with the Data Protection Board of India.

To exercise any of these rights, write to us at support@safarix.in. We will respond within the time periods prescribed by law.

9. Children's data

Safarix is intended for users aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. Changes to this policy
